What's New at Jessicas Juice
Here is some more of our news which details the restaurants, cafes and pubs we've visited recently...

On this warm spring Friday, we took our usual trip to Frodsham at lunchtime to have a quick bite at the Eddisbury Deli, which on this occaision was slightly disappointing in that their fried food was unavailable, and since we'd set out hearts on their lovely curly fries, the panini and soup although great did not quite hit the right spot!
Later on the same day we decided to give a try to an old favourite of a Chinese takeaway in Runcorn, the Jasmine House on Church Street, as which we had heard it was under new management. After having a quite filling lunch, we decided to opt for just one meal, with rice which Wendy cooked. The Kung Po Chicken was great and even on such a small order included a free portion of Prawn Crackers (such are the benefits of going to a new establishment). The Kung Po Chicken had just the right balance of tender chicken and plenty of fresh cashewnuts in a medium thick spicy sauce together with greenpeppers, onions, carrots and other veg. We'll certainly be trying them again, probably when we have a bigger appetite.

As per usual for us on a Sunday we opted for an evening meal of a Takeaway! This time we were tempted by the delights of the Taj Mahal in Frodsham and as per usual the trek from Runcorn was well worth the time and effort. We opted for the £11.95, 9 course Sunday special which was perfect!

Again another visit to Chester to sample it's many restaurants, and on this occaision we opted for the Lunch menu at Aquavit which is a great Swedish restaurant. The food was some of the best we've had in Chester and the £5.95 3 course lunch menu was perfect!

Recently we went for a couple of meals in Chester, the first one to the upmarket Pastarazzi for a family feast, which included Wendy's sister and her family. Although the food was OK I will probably not be writing pages of glowing testimonials on them as from the info I had heard on them previously, it somehow did not live up to my full expectations. Then a few days later, we (Wendy and I) visited Sergio's in Chester which is a small Italian restaurant near the cathederal. The food was great and we'll certainly be making another visit soon to try their house specialty Fish Soup.

Following on from out jaunt to South Cheshire, we were still in a travelling mood and decided to have a longer trip to York, where Wendy's niece Jamesina lives. As I've been quite busy today, I'll write up full details of out trip and culinary exploits tomorrow, but just to give them a mention, we visited a great little Italian restaurant La Piazza for lunch and then a new Turkish restaurant Kapadokya for dinner, both of which we reccomended to us by Jamesina.

After most of our reviews being within a short hop of Runcorn, we decided to spread out a bit a visit Macclesfield to see a Mexican restaurant the El Rio which had been reccomended to us. It turned out to be a very enjoyable lunchtime meal which would be ideal for any family.
